Packages
Karen's services as speaker, coach and consultant can be combined into packages. Contracting for a package of services multiplies the impact on the congregation, increasing your ability to help your people serve. It also offers cost savings compared to purchasing the services separately.
Choose from one of these packages, or build your own package.
Package 1: Speaker Series
Three half-day workshops within one year. Each workshop to cover two topics listed on the speaker page
Package 2: Speaker and Coach
Ten coaching sessions for the key volunteerism leader plus two half-day workshops (each workshop covering two topics) within one year.
Package 3: Speaker, Coach and Informal Consultant
One full-day presentation on five topics, plus six coaching sessions for the key volunteerism leader, plus 2-3 return visits for 12 hours informal consultation time (see examples) to assist implementation over a six-month period.
Build-Your-Own Package: Combine speaking, coaching and consulting services in any manner that fits your needs.
When a church is considering hiring Karen for a package of services, an initial on-site visit for informal consulting may be available at no cost other than travel expenses.
Advantages of a package of resources:
- Ongoing resources over a period of 6-12 months helps build the equipping system and culture, a task which is neither quick nor easy.
- Repeat interactions increase the congregation's commitment to the work and the odds of success.
- As church leaders and Karen work together more, she can be more helpful
- Decreased cost, 10% to 50% depending on number of services purchased and size of congregation. Cost is billed in equal installments over the period that the services are rendered. Travel expenses are additional.

Getting the most benefit from equipping services
Congregations reap greater benefits from a speaker, coach or consultant when church leaders understand the basics of being an equipping church and are willing to follow through with implementation. A speaker/coach/consultant brings tools as well as ideas, information and enthusiasm. The tools are for work that must be done by the congregation, and that work is more likely to take place when leaders have begun preparations. Before engaging my services for anything other than a single presentation, I suggest a church invest by doing the following:
- A minimum of 3-4 people become familiar with the principles of equipping people to serve through such resources as:
- this website
- Me to We by Alan Nelson
- The Equipping Church by Sue Mallory
- The Equipping Church Guidebook by Sue Mallory and Brad Smith
- Key church leaders, including the pastor, understand and endorse the key principles of equipping people to serve, understanding especially that equipping impacts the entire church
- A team of 3 or more people, with an identified leader, has committed to lead the equipping effort.
